'Harper's Island' climbs to 377,000

Last night's 9pm episode of Harper's Island pulled in 377k (1.7%) for BBC Three, according to early viewing figures.

It beat last week's disappointing debut, which had 364k (1.6%), but the next episode, which followed immediately after, averaged a lowly 340k (1.8%) between 9.40pm and 10.20pm.

Also, on the multichannel stations, the latest episode of House managed 550k (2.5%) for Sky1 during the 9pm hour.

The most-watched multichannel programme during Sunday night was a repeat of The X Factor, which had 1.21m (6.5%) for ITV2 between 6.45pm and 8pm. A repeat of Holly Willoughby-fronted Xtra Factor followed, pulling in 738k (3.4%).

CasualtyElsewhere, Casualty had a strong 5.36m (22.6%) for BBC One during the 8pm hour. The audience then rose to 6.46m (27%) during the 9pm screening of Waking The Dead.

BBC Two's Last Chance To See, starring Stephen Fry and Mark Cawardine, brought in 3.1m (13.2%) at 8pm, then 2.44m (10.2%) tuned in for Dragons' Den On Tour during the 9pm hour.

Over on ITV1, the second episode of Agatha Christie's Marple averaged 4.54m (19.1%) between 8pm and 10pm. Later, at 10.15pm, The South Bank Show returned to 790k (5.6%).

Five's film-fest kicked off with Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, which logged 1.42m (6.3%) between 7.15pm and 9pm, then 1.48m (7.6%) tuned in for Dumb And Dumber between 9pm and 11.15pm.

Channel 4 ran with X-Men - The Last Stand, which was seen by 1.32m (5.5%) between 8pm and 10pm.

Overall, BBC One dominated primetime with an average share of 23.5% to ITV1's 15.9%. BBC Two was third with 10.5%, followed by Five's 7% and Channel 4 with 5% (+1: 0.9%).
