'Casualty' tops Saturday ratings

Casualty came top during Saturday's ratings, according to the latest viewing figures.

The BBC One medical drama put in 5.03m (24.4%) during the 9pm hour, making it the most-watched show during primetime.

Earlier on BBC One, at 8pm, The National Lottery: Guesstimation was seen by 3.77m (19.4%) and then the draw itself followed with 4.96m (24.6%).

Over on BBC Two, Proms 2009 coverage averaged 1.95m (9.9%) between 7.30pm and 9.30pm, then 2.02m (10.2%) tuned in for Have I Got A Bit More News For You between 9.30pm and 10.10pm.

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? attracted 4.01m (20.6%) to ITV1 during the 8pm hour, then A Touch Of Frost pulled in 3.48m (18.1%) between 9pm and 10.55pm.

Channel 4's double-bill of ER interested 582k (3.2%) and 570k (2.9%) from 7pm, then the Big Brother highlights show grabbed 1.59m (7.8%) during the 9pm hour. Later, at 10pm, Will Ferrell: You're Welcome America managed 415k (2.8%).

The Guardian took 1.1m (5.6%) for Five during the 8pm hour. The audience then dropped to 1.07m (5.3%) during the 9pm repeat of NCIS.

Overall, BBC One came top during primetime with an average share of 21.9% to ITV1's 18.2%. BBC Two was third with 7.1%, followed by Channel 4 with 4.8% (+1: 0.7%) and Five's 5%.
